Toddler Given Whiskey By Parents In Feces-Filled Home, DA Says

A Pennsylvania toddler was allegedly given whiskey by their parents while living in a home filled with feces, urine, and rotting waste, the Westmoreland County District Attorney announced on Thursday, Feb. 20.

Robert Conklin and Erin Pitts are accused of forcing multiple children to endure deplorable conditions inside their Allegheny Street home in Greensburg, the DA said.

Children and Youth Services (CYS) responded to the home after the parents failed to seek medical care for a child in October, investigators said.

Caseworkers found feces covering the floors, a urine-soaked bed, and children wearing diapers held together with duct tape, according to police.

A child was found trapped in a pack-and-play with discolored legs, unable to stand, authorities said.

Witnesses inside the home reported seeing Conklin pour whiskey into a younger child’s mouth, police said. A 2023 social media photo allegedly shows him forcing alcohol into a toddler’s mouth, investigators added.

Conklin and Pitts were each charged with three felony counts of child endangerment, the DA said. Conklin was also charged with corruption of minors, according to court records.

Their case remains active, authorities said.
